Nude Food Philosophy

At only 12 years of age, I began writing about food – a journal of ideas that captured my vision of what food should be – simple healthy and delicious. I called it ‘Food in the Nude’. Fast-forward the clock almost two decades later and I stand by my Nude Food philosophy – eat real food that comes from the ground, sea and sky, and less from factories. This enduring philosophy is at the very heart of everything we do at My Food Bag – it guides our choice of ingredients and suppliers as well as the recipe design for Food Bags.

Nude Food is a set of guiding principles based on the wisdom of our ancestors that strips back science to reveal our inherent eating behaviours – primal instincts we’ve lost over time. Nude Food focuses on eating for health and enjoyment by satisfying the senses – seeing, touching, smelling and tasting, to enhance our experience with the food we eat.

Although I’m a dietitian, I don’t believe in diets. Today, healthy eating involves a multitude of choices – navigating often conflicting or confusing information and advice from a wide variety of sources. Complex food pyramids, labelling and trendy diets are distractions to what is important – that is, our relationship with food. Our ancestors viewed food simply and instinctively, without the hang-ups and anxiety that so called nutrition experts, food marketers and diet gurus create for people today.

My Food Bags have been designed around the principles of Nude Food – fresh, seasonal, nourishing and attractive food that delights the senses – so you are inherently making eating choices that promote health and enjoyment, in the right balance. Nude Food has the power to change your life by taking the guesswork out of what is good for you, try it – your body will tell you it’s working!
